School district employees are entitled to at least 2 paid days of wellness leave per year, in addition to all other existing leave benefits

Wellness leave days cannot be accumulated from year to year and cannot be deducted from an employee's accumulated personal leave balance

School districts must adopt a policy governing the use of wellness leave, including procedures for processing and documentation

School districts are prohibited from requiring employees to provide documentation for wellness leave days taken

Takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year; immediate effect with two-thirds legislative vote, otherwise September 1, 2025
