Requires school district boards of trustees to resume management of a campus or district when state-appointed conservators, boards of managers, or alternative management were imposed due to campus performance and those campuses subsequently receive an acceptable performance rating

Changes the commissioner's authority from discretionary ("may") to mandatory ("shall") regarding removal of a board of managers once the campus that triggered the appointment achieves acceptable performance

Eliminates the previous requirement that a campus must receive acceptable performance ratings for two consecutive school years before a board of managers can be removed

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year

Takes effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote in both legislative chambers, otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
