Limits liability of maritime pilots operating on Matagorda and Lavaca Bays to a maximum of $1,000 for damage or loss caused by the pilot's error, omission, fault, or neglect during pilot services

Exempts pilots from liability for claims arising from acts or omissions of other pilots or pilot organizations related to pilot services

The $1,000 liability cap does not apply to willful misconduct, gross negligence, exemplary damages for gross negligence, or acts related to pilot boat ownership and operation

Vessel owners and operators remain fully liable for damage caused by their vessels, regardless of whether a pilot was in control or at fault

Takes effect September 1, 2025, and applies only to acts, omissions, or legal actions occurring on or after that date
