Amends Section 46.04 of the Texas Penal Code to narrow the types of felony convictions that restrict firearm possession

Restricts firearm possession only for felons convicted of offenses involving intentional or knowing use, attempted use, or threatened use of force

Specifies additional qualifying felonies including offenses under Title 5 (crimes against persons), prohibited sexual conduct (Section 25.02), enticing a child (Section 25.04), sale or purchase of a child (Section 25.08), arson (Section 28.02), robbery offenses (Chapter 29), burglary (Section 30.02), stalking (Section 42.072), animal cruelty offenses, human trafficking (Section 43.05), sexual performance by a child (Section 43.25), and organized crime offenses (Title 12)

Maintains existing restrictions allowing firearm possession at home after 5 years following release from confinement or supervision, with possession elsewhere prohibited indefinitely for qualifying felons

Applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025
