Expands Texas Election Code to criminalize creating and distributing "deep fake videos" with intent to deceive and injure a candidate or influence an election, classified as a Class A misdemeanor

Creates a new Class B misdemeanor offense for creating and distributing "altered images" with intent to deceive and influence election results

Removes the previous 30-day pre-election window restriction, making the deep fake video offense applicable at any time

Defines "altered image" as a manipulated image that changes someone's physical appearance or depicts them performing actions that didn't occur, excluding cartoons, caricatures, satire, and superficial edits like brightness or color adjustments

Provides an affirmative defense for altered image offenses if the image includes a clear label stating it has been altered; takes effect September 1, 2025
