Establishes the Supported Independent Living Program to assist young adults transitioning to voluntary extended foster care by providing independent living placements with case management, support services, and limited supervision

Helps young adults in the program become self-sufficient through achieving educational and employment goals, accessing community resources, receiving life skills training, and establishing important relationships

Renames the existing "supervised independent living" program to "supported independent living" throughout the Family Code, Government Code, and Human Resources Code

Requires caseworkers to complete transitional living or supported independent living paperwork at least 6 months before a youth's 18th birthday to ensure housing is secured when entering extended foster care

Mandates the Department of Family and Protective Services update all informational materials to reflect the new program name by January 1, 2026, with the act taking effect September 1, 2025
