TX HB2950

Expands the jurisdiction of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law to have concurrent jurisdiction with district courts in civil cases, including those where the amount in controversy exceeds the statutory maximum (previously, such high-value cases were excluded from the court's jurisdiction)

Adds the judge of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law to the juvenile board of Bee County, joining the county judge and district judges

Adds the judge of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law to the juvenile board of Live Oak County, joining the county judge and district judges

Adds the judge of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law to the juvenile board of McMullen County, joining the county judge and district judges

Takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote of the legislature, or September 1, 2025, with the expanded jurisdiction applying only to cases filed on or after the effective date
