Doubles the maximum civil penalty for violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act from $10,000 to $20,000 per violation

Allows an additional penalty of up to $250,000 when deceptive practices target consumers who are 65 years of age or older

Adds new protected categories eligible for the enhanced $250,000 penalty: consumers who are not fluent in the language in which the deceptive act occurred, and persons with an intellectual disability

Changes apply only to actions brought on or after the effective date; prior actions remain governed by former law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
