School districts and open-enrollment charter schools offering high school programs may provide hunter education instruction within courses that count toward graduation requirements

The State Board of Education must develop curriculum guidelines for hunter education in cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Curriculum guidelines must meet the requirements necessary for students to receive a hunter education certificate under Section 62.014(c) of the Parks and Wildlife Code

The program applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year

Takes effect immediately with two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, or September 1, 2025, otherwise
