Increases criminal penalties for human trafficking offenses committed on or within 1,000 feet of schools, school bus stops, student pick-up/drop-off zones, institutions of higher education, juvenile detention facilities, post-adjudication secure correctional facilities, shelters serving vulnerable populations, community centers with youth programs, and child-care facilities

Expands the enhanced penalty zone to include offenses committed in school buses or other school passenger transportation vehicles

Enhanced offense classification is a first degree felony punishable by life imprisonment or 25 to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice

Clarifies that the enhanced penalty applies if "any part of" the trafficking offense occurs in a protected location, rather than requiring the entire offense to occur there

Applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025
