Removes the prohibition on institutions providing or soliciting compensation to prospective student athletes related to their name, image, or likeness (NIL), effectively allowing institutions to offer NIL deals during recruitment

Eliminates restrictions that prevented NIL compensation from being provided by the institution itself or in exchange for accepting an admission offer

Removes the prohibition on NIL compensation for acts occurring during official team activities, allowing athletes to earn from their performance during games and practices

Maintains existing requirements that student athletes must disclose proposed NIL contracts to their institution before signing and cannot endorse alcohol, tobacco, gambling, steroids, or sexually oriented businesses

Repeals Sections 51.9246(g-1) and (j) of the Education Code and applies only to contracts entered into on or after the effective date
