Authorizes defense base development authority boards to employ and commission peace officers to prevent or address offenses related to port functions, facilities, and operations under state or local law

Limits the jurisdiction of these commissioned peace officers to property owned or controlled by the defense base development authority

Grants these officers the arrest authority provided under Chapter 14 of the Code of Criminal Procedure within their jurisdiction

Adds officers commissioned by defense base development authority boards (established under Chapter 379B, Local Government Code) to the official list of peace officers in Texas

Takes effect September 1, 2025; passed the House 133-0 on April 30, 2025, and the Senate 31-0 on May 9, 2025
