Expands acceptable photo identification for voting to include official Native American identification cards or tribal documents that contain the voter's photograph and address, issued by a federally recognized tribe located in Texas

Adds student identification cards from public or private institutions of higher education located in Texas as acceptable voter ID, provided they contain the voter's photograph

Allows identification cards issued by any Texas state agency containing the voter's photograph to be used for voting purposes

Maintains existing acceptable forms of ID including Texas driver's licenses, DPS-issued personal identification cards, U.S. military IDs, citizenship certificates, passports, and handgun licenses (current or expired within 4 years)

Takes effect immediately upon two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, otherwise becomes effective September 1, 2025
