Requires guardians of wards who are 60 years or older, or younger wards diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or related disorders, to complete a one-hour training course within six months of appointment and annually thereafter

Training must cover common aspects of aging, warning signs of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, effective communication strategies with diagnosed individuals, and resources for supporting their rights

The Judicial Branch Certification Commission must provide the training course free online via its website

Texas Supreme Court must adopt implementing rules by January 1, 2026, and the training course must be available by July 1, 2026

Guardians appointed before July 1, 2026, who meet the criteria must complete their initial training by September 1, 2026; probate courts may waive training under certain circumstances identified by the Supreme Court
