Repeals Section 6.001 of the Texas Family Code, which currently allows "insupportability" (commonly known as no-fault divorce) as a ground for dissolving a marriage

Applies only to divorce suits filed on or after the effective date; cases filed before that date remain governed by existing law

Takes effect September 1, 2025

Would eliminate the ability to obtain a divorce in Texas based solely on the marriage becoming insupportable due to discord or conflict, requiring instead that one of the fault-based grounds be proven
