Expands options for court-ordered alcohol awareness programs for minors convicted of alcohol-related offenses by adding a third option: any six-hour alcohol awareness program approved by the court, in addition to programs regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

Removes the requirement that alcohol awareness programs referenced in the Code of Criminal Procedure and Family Code must be specifically regulated by TDLR under Chapter 171, Government Code, allowing courts greater flexibility in program approval

Applies to offenses including public intoxication, purchase/consumption/possession of alcohol by a minor, minor misrepresenting age, and related violations under the Alcoholic Beverage Code and Penal Code

Updates terminology throughout relevant statutes from "drug abuse" to "substance misuse" when referring to education programs

Repeals Sections 106.115(b-1) and (b-2) of the Alcoholic Beverage Code, effective September 1, 2025
