Requires school districts to provide enough automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at each campus so that emergency cardiac care can be delivered within three minutes of notification from any location on campus, replacing the previous requirement of just one AED per campus

Mandates that school nurses, athletic coaches, physical education instructors, marching band directors, cheerleading coaches, and student athletic trainers obtain and maintain AED certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar nationally recognized cardiovascular care organization

Requires all school districts and applicable private schools to develop and implement cardiac emergency response plans that include establishing response teams, activation procedures, plan dissemination, ongoing CPR/AED training, annual practice drills, and yearly plan reviews

Establishes a grant program administered by the commissioner to help districts and schools implement cardiac emergency response plans, with priority given to schools where at least 50% of students are educationally disadvantaged

Sets compliance deadline of the first instructional day of the 2027-2028 school year for schools to have required AEDs in place and cardiac emergency response plans implemented
