Requires state agency employees who use computers for at least 25% of their duties, along with elected and appointed officials, to complete annual artificial intelligence training in addition to existing cybersecurity training requirements

Directs the Department of Information Resources to annually certify at least five AI training programs that focus on understanding AI technology use in job responsibilities and best practices for deploying and operating AI systems

Extends AI training requirements to local government employees and officials who access government computer systems and use computers for at least 25% of their duties

Requires local governments applying for grants under Chapter 772 to certify compliance with both cybersecurity and AI training; non-compliance results in repayment of grant funds and two-year ineligibility for future grants

School district cybersecurity coordinators must complete annual AI training, while other district employees complete training on a schedule determined by the district in consultation with the coordinator

Takes effect September 1, 2025
