Building code education must cover damage assessment and claim adjustment, policy coverage interpretations involving building codes, and mitigation and reconstruction standards applicable to insured losses

Mandates the Texas Department of Insurance to either develop the building code course or certify a continuing education program that includes the course

Requires the department to ensure the building code course is available in multiple formats, including classroom, online, and self-paced study options

Takes effect September 1, 2025
