Amends Section 46.01(3) of the Texas Penal Code to explicitly exclude stun guns (as defined by Section 38.14) from the legal definition of "firearm" for purposes of criminal offenses

Maintains existing exclusions for antique or curio firearms manufactured before 1899 and replicas of such firearms that do not use rim fire or center fire ammunition

Reorganizes the structure of the firearm definition by adding lettered subsections to clarify what devices are excluded from the definition

Applies only to offenses committed on or after the effective date; offenses committed before remain governed by prior law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
