Requires school boards to adopt policies providing avenues for student participation in district- and campus-level planning and decision-making, such as inviting students to committee meetings or providing anonymous student input boxes at each campus

Adds students to the list of stakeholders who must be involved in establishing and reviewing educational plans, goals, performance objectives, and instructional programs alongside professional staff, parents, and community members

Allows district- and campus-level planning committees to include enrolled students as members

Mandates that both district improvement plans and campus improvement plans identify the student input that was incorporated into each plan

Requires systematic communications measures to periodically obtain student input (in addition to community, parent, and staff input) regarding district and campus performance and committee recommendations

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
