Expands the definition of "child with special health care needs" to include individuals with sickle cell disease, regardless of age, for eligibility in the state program

Currently, only individuals with cystic fibrosis qualify for the program without age restrictions; this bill adds sickle cell disease to that category

Individuals under 21 years of age with chronic physical or developmental conditions remain eligible under existing criteria

Amends Section 35.0022(a) of the Health and Safety Code

Effective date: September 1, 2025
