Prohibits out-of-state companies, businesses, corporations, hedge funds, and institutional investors from purchasing or acquiring title to single-family homesteads in Texas

Entities are barred if they are headquartered outside Texas, directly or indirectly controlled from outside the state, or have majority ownership held outside Texas, and do not already own a homestead in the state

Defines "single-family homestead" as a structure designed for one-family residential use or a unit where the owner has an undivided interest in the underlying real estate and claims a homestead tax exemption

Exempts nonprofit organizations that purchase property for the purpose of providing affordable housing from the prohibition

Applies only to purchases or acquisitions occurring on or after September 1, 2025, with prior transactions governed by existing law
