Removes the requirement that accelerated instruction for students who fail state assessments in grades 3-8 or end-of-course exams must be provided "during the subsequent summer or school year," allowing districts more flexibility in timing

Maintains the requirement that school districts must either assign failing students to a master, exemplary, or recognized teacher for the following school year, or provide supplemental instruction

Repeals Sections 28.0211(a-2) and (a-3) of the Education Code, which contained additional accelerated instruction requirements

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year

Takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, or September 1, 2025, otherwise
