Health care providers may submit bills for services related to a personal injury claim directly to the patient's attorney (rather than the patient) within the existing 11-month billing deadline, unless the patient or responsible person directs otherwise

The bill amends Section 146.002 of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to add the patient's attorney as an acceptable recipient for billing purposes when the patient is represented in a personal injury claim

The date of billing is considered the date the bill is mailed postage prepaid to the patient, responsible person, or attorney at the address on file with the provider

The law applies only to health care services provided on or after September 1, 2025
