Expands mandatory mental health leave policies to cover "qualified employees" including peace officers, jailers, telecommunicators, and parole officers who experience traumatic events in the scope of employment

Adds jailers to covered employees, defined as county jailers and Texas Department of Criminal Justice employees performing security, custodial, or supervisory functions over prisoners

Adds parole officers as a new category of qualified employees eligible for mental health leave

Requires mental health leave policies to provide clear guidelines, paid leave without salary deduction, specified number of leave days, and anonymity protections for employees who use the leave

Takes effect September 1, 2025, with agencies required to adopt compliant policies as soon as practicable after that date
