Caps severance pay for political subdivision employees and independent contractors at 12 weeks of compensation at their termination rate, excluding paid time off or accrued vacation leave

Prohibits severance pay for employees or independent contractors terminated for misconduct, which includes criminal conduct or any act/omission the governing body determines to be misconduct

Requires political subdivisions to post each severance agreement prominently on their website

Prevents courts from issuing writs of execution or mandamus for judgments in termination lawsuits that do not comply with these severance limitations

Applies only to employment agreements, contracts, or legal actions filed on or after September 1, 2025
