Removes mandatory placement in disciplinary alternative education programs for students who possess two ounces or less of marijuana on or within 300 feet of school property

Makes placement discretionary rather than mandatory for students possessing less than one gram of THC or cannabinol derivatives contained in vaping devices or consumable liquids

Eliminates mandatory disciplinary placement for students who merely possess an e-cigarette, while maintaining mandatory placement for those who use, sell, give, or deliver e-cigarettes to others

Applies to conduct occurring on school property, within 300 feet of school property, or at school-sponsored activities

Takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
