Local broadcasters who cover a majority of a school's regular season activities may broadcast UIL postseason games and tournaments, overriding any exclusive broadcast agreements the UIL has with private entities

"Local broadcaster" includes radio stations, television stations, live streaming platforms, and student-organized broadcasts offered as educational programs by schools

UIL may require local broadcasters to sign agreements that include paying reasonable compensation for video broadcasts, obtaining host site approval, adhering to sponsor limitations, and providing competent announcers

UIL is prohibited from executing exclusive postseason broadcast agreements that conflict with these local broadcaster rights

Applies only to agreements entered into on or after September 1, 2025
