Requires municipalities with populations over 100,000 to expedite building permit reviews for affordable housing projects that have received low income housing tax credit allocations under state law

Mandates that building permit applications for qualifying affordable housing projects be granted or denied in no more than 50% of the time normally allotted for residential building permit decisions

Allows affordable housing project applicants to use any accelerated residential building permit review process that a municipality has already adopted

Applies only to the building permit process and does not affect municipal zoning authority

Takes effect September 1, 2025, and applies only to permit applications submitted on or after that date
