Expands eligibility for veterans treatment court program benefits to defendants who were charged with, convicted of, or placed on deferred adjudication community supervision for any misdemeanor or felony offense, not just those who were arrested

Allows case dismissal and potential expunction for veterans who successfully complete a veterans treatment court program for "any justice involved event," with prosecutor agreement and court determination that dismissal serves the best interest of justice

Requires the veterans treatment court to provide the criminal court with dismissal information and all defendant details needed for an expunction petition

Permits district courts to directly enter expunction orders, while non-district courts may forward dismissal and expunction information to a district court with jurisdiction to enter the order

Takes effect September 1, 2025
