School districts must notify parents in writing when an inappropriately certified or uncertified teacher is assigned to their child's classroom for more than 30 consecutive instructional days, excluding the first 30 days of the school year

Districts are now required (not just "make a good-faith effort") to provide bilingual notices to parents whose primary language is not English

School districts must publish teacher certification information, including the type of certification held by each teacher, on the district's website and make it available upon request

Districts of innovation may no longer use local innovation plans to exempt themselves from these parental notification requirements about teacher qualifications

Existing local innovation plans must comply with the new requirements by September 1, 2025, regardless of when they were adopted
