Requires specified school employees (school nurses, athletic coaches, physical education instructors, marching band directors, cheerleading coaches, and student athletic trainers) to receive and maintain certification in both CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) use from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar nationally recognized association

Expands mandatory CPR/AED training requirements to explicitly include open-enrollment charter schools alongside private schools

Removes the previous limitation that only applied these requirements to private schools receiving AEDs or funding from the state agency to purchase or lease AEDs

Requires private schools and open-enrollment charter schools to adopt policies making CPR and AED instruction available to all school employees and volunteers

Takes effect beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
