Authorizes the Nueces County Hospital District board to establish and administer a grant program for hospitals within the district to recruit and retain physicians

Grant funds may be used to retain current physicians, recruit specialists and subspecialists who treat the most common and critical health care needs of district residents, and increase residency positions at district hospitals

Requires the board to adopt rules governing grant applications, eligibility and selection criteria, and accountability controls to ensure the district receives a benefit from awarded grants

Funding must come from non-tax levy sources and cannot include money received under Chapter 298C (healthcare provider participation programs)

Requires approval from the Nueces County Commissioners Court for the district to use funds for this grant program; effective date is September 1, 2025
