Requires school district boards of trustees to adopt policies mandating that classroom doors remain locked whenever students are present in the classroom

Classroom doors must be equipped with locking mechanisms that allow free and immediate egress without requiring any unlocking action

If a classroom door requires an unlocking action to exit, that door may not be locked while students are present

All exterior doors to instructional facilities, including portable buildings, must remain closed and locked at all times

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
