Increases the minimum term of imprisonment to 5 years for second or third degree felonies listed under Article 42A.054(a) when a firearm was used or exhibited during the offense or immediate flight

Prohibits deferred adjudication community supervision for defendants charged with second or third degree felonies (or felonies with 5+ year minimums) under Article 42A.054(a) when a firearm was used or exhibited during the offense

Requires sentences to run consecutively (stacked) when a defendant commits a qualifying firearm-related felony while already on community supervision for another offense

Sets minimum community supervision period at 5 years for offenses where imprisonment minimums were increased under the new provisions

Increases parole eligibility requirements to 5 calendar years of actual time served (without good conduct credit) for inmates serving sentences where a firearm finding was entered, compared to 2 years for other qualifying offenses

Applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025
