Amends Section 71.003 of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to add a new exemption to wrongful death claims involving unborn children

Prohibits wrongful death lawsuits for the death of an unborn child when the death results from an abortion, as defined under Section 245.002 of the Health and Safety Code

Maintains existing exemptions that prevent wrongful death claims against the mother, physicians performing lawful medical procedures with consent, persons dispensing drugs in accordance with law, and licensed health care providers performing lawful practices

Applies only to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date; prior claims remain governed by existing law

Takes effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
