Amends Section 25.087(b) of the Texas Education Code to explicitly include mental health professionals in the list of health care professionals whose appointments qualify for excused temporary absences

Requires school districts to excuse students for temporary absences to attend appointments with mental health professionals, provided the student begins classes or returns to school on the same day as the appointment

Applies to both students attending their own mental health appointments and students who are parents attending appointments for their child

Takes effect beginning with the 2025-2026 school year

Becomes effective immediately upon receiving two-thirds vote in both legislative chambers, otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
