Employers participating in county or municipal economic development programs must contact their local workforce development board when hiring to determine if career development center participants are qualified for open positions

Employers are required to consider qualified career development center participants when filling job vacancies

Employers must give additional consideration to job applicants who receive state or federal public assistance, including unemployment insurance benefits

Additional consideration also applies to applicants receiving assistance under Chapter 31 of the Human Resources Code (financial assistance programs)
