Expands anti-discrimination protections for volunteer deputy voter registrar appointments by adding sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and political affiliation to the list of prohibited grounds for refusal

Existing law already prohibits refusing appointment based on sex, race, creed, color, or national origin or ancestry

Amends Section 13.032 of the Texas Election Code

Takes effect immediately upon two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, otherwise becomes effective September 1, 2025
