Requires communities to maintain a resident safety policy and notify residents within 2 business days of any reported criminal activity or trespassing incidents, both by direct communication and conspicuous posting

Prohibits communities from preventing residents from communicating with law enforcement, social workers, or family about safety concerns, or from penalizing residents for such communications

Exempts health care institutions, licensed boarding homes, HUD Section 202 supportive housing, centers for independent living, and facilities regulated by HHSC or CMS from these requirements
