Requires school district boards of trustees and open-enrollment charter school governing bodies to establish sick leave pool programs where retiring employees' accrued sick leave is automatically contributed to a shared pool

Allows current district or school employees who have exhausted their own sick leave to draw from the pooled sick leave, subject to existing district or school sick leave policies

Exempts districts and charter schools that adopted policies related to retiring employees' accrued sick leave before September 1, 2025, if establishing the new program would conflict with those existing policies

Mandates that school district employee handbooks (electronic, paper, or website) include information about the sick leave pool program

Takes effect September 1, 2025
