Requires the State Board of Education to mandate digital citizenship instruction be completed by all 6th grade students as part of the social studies curriculum

Expands the definition of "digital citizenship" to include media literacy skills such as identifying credible sources and analyzing content created or modified by generative artificial intelligence technology

Adds digital ethics, etiquette, respectful discourse with those holding differing opinions, online safety and security, digital footprint awareness, and identification of rhetoric inciting violence based on race, religion, or political affiliation to required instruction

Includes cyberbullying prevention and response as a component of digital citizenship education, along with information about potential criminal consequences of cyberbullying

Takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
