Amends Article 42.03 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to expand sentence credit for time served before sentencing

Adds new provision requiring judges to credit defendants for time confined in jail or prison for another case, if that confinement occurred after the commission of the offense for which the defendant is being sentenced

Maintains existing credits for time spent in jail for the current case, substance abuse treatment facilities (TDCJ-operated), court-ordered residential programs, and mental health or residential care facilities

Applies to defendants sentenced on or after September 1, 2025, regardless of when the offense was committed

Updates gendered language in the statute from "his" to "the defendant's"
