Authorizes pharmacists to furnish prescription drugs to treat acute conditions identified through CLIA-waived rapid strep tests (for Group A streptococcus) or rapid influenza diagnostic tests (for influenza types A and B) under a physician's written protocol

Permits pharmacists to provide these medications without an established physician-patient relationship, as allowed by the written protocol

Requires pharmacists to notify the patient's primary care physician (if identified by the patient) within 14 days of furnishing the medication

Mandates that pharmacists complete a board-approved training program relevant to the condition being treated before furnishing drugs under this authority

Requires the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and Texas Medical Board to jointly adopt rules establishing minimum content for written protocols and training programs by January 1, 2026, with the act taking effect September 1, 2025
