Peace officers must identify themselves before taking any action within their official duties, unless identification would make the action impracticable

Officers are required to intervene to prevent another peace officer's action if it involves unreasonable force, violates department policy or law, or puts a person at risk of bodily injury without justification

Changes the standard for reporting offenses to magistrates from "good reason to believe" to "probable cause" that a penal law violation occurred

Shifts warrantless arrest and crime prevention/suppression authority from mandatory duties to permissive powers ("may, if authorized" instead of "shall")

Effective date is September 1, 2025
