Expands temporary teaching certificate eligibility for military service members (honorably discharged, retired, or released from active duty) and first responders (who left in good standing) from only career and technology education to all teaching certification areas

Allows 48 months of active duty military service or first responder service to substitute for an associate degree requirement for temporary certification

Permits substitution for a bachelor's degree requirement with 48 months of military/first responder service combined with 60 semester credit hours and a minimum 2.50 GPA

Requires school districts to assign a mentor teacher to individuals holding these temporary teaching certificates for at least two school years

Takes effect September 1, 2025
