Designates Port Aransas, located on Mustang Island along the Texas Gulf Coast, as the official Fishing Capital of Texas

The designation remains in effect for 10 years from the date of final passage, per Section 391.003(e) of the Government Code

Port Aransas hosts notable fishing tournaments including the Texas Legends Billfish Tournament, Texas Women Anglers Tournament, and the Deep Sea Roundup (the oldest fishing competition on the Texas coast)

The resolution recognizes the area's diverse marine ecosystem featuring red snapper, redfish, flounder, tarpon, marlin, and tuna, with opportunities for deep-sea, bay, and pier fishing
