Womble was first appointed to the board by Governor Greg Abbott in 2019 and reappointed in March 2025; he currently chairs the Facilities Committee and has served on the Finance & Investments Committee and Audit Committee

Womble graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in business administration in information systems and founded Interactive Computer Designs while a student

Sold Interactive Computer Designs to Tyler Technologies in 1998 and served as executive vice president until retiring in 2016; currently a partner at Masked Rider Capital and chair of Service Compression, LLC
