San Antonio has secured and invested over $115 million in grants for military infrastructure, force protection, resiliency, family and veteran employment, and aviation safety

The city has maintained a military presence since 1718 with the establishment of San Antonio de Béxar Presidio and is home to Brooke Army Medical Center, the DOD's largest medical center and only Level I Trauma Center
